what can cause pain in left side of abdomen and diaphram?

having sharp pain in left side of my abdomen and a kind of contstant pain in my diaphram. i haven’t change anything in my regular routine. i was in acar accident about 4 weeks ago and have had this pain for about a week. does anyone have any ideas?

probably go see a doctor. i know it might not seem urgent now but it could get worse. i would probably saw a fractured rib or something if you’ve recently been in a car accident… but i"m NOT a doctor. go see one.

I’ve got this HORRIBLE pulsing pain on the left side of my stomach, it’s just above my hip bone, and under my rib cage. I’m 16 so I don’t really think it could be anything too serious, but it has waves of pain, and i can’t take it anymore. However I’ve only had it for one morning, starting today, I’m kinda worried.

Go to a doctor and ask them to have tests done so as to get rid of the anxiety.
Try alternative therapies, such as a massage, to relax you.

I have major pain on left side of abdomen, colon area? Any ideas?

I am supose to get a sgimoidoscopy and need to schedule it but in the meantime the left side is killing me. This has gone on for a few months now but tonight it is really bad. It is hard to the touch and you can see it is distended compare to the other side. Without being to graphic I will just say there is major changes in bowel also.
Any ideas what would cause this? why it is rigid? and there is pain?

sounds like what i have and actually am having a flare up now, diverticulosis, which can go to diverticulitis, i go from loose to not so bm’s and im hoping what ever is flaring up goes down with the antibiotics doc gave me, but you need to see a gastroinerologist as soon as possible, if it gets as ecscruciating to where your diaphram wont let you breath, then its 911 time, good luck and god bless

Sharp throbbing pain in left side of ankle?

Ive had this throbbing pain every 10-20 minutes in my left ankle left side. Following the pain (which lasts about 10 seconds) i get a warm feeling and sometimes a bit of pain in my foot as well. My mother says this is nothing to worry about and that i’m exaggerating… But would you suggest it could get serious?

I have a sore throat when swallowing, slight ear pain, left side neck hurt when apply pressure. Any ideas?

My throat is painful when I swallow but pretty much ok otherwise. My ear huts a little too but not too badly. When I press my hand to the right side of my neck, from under the chin to a little way down but not past my collar bone it feels sore.
Edit: It’s the left side of my neck not right if that makes a difference…

Sounds like you pulled your neck muscle.It will get better with time.

I have this sharp shooting pain on my left side and it hurt even worse when I am standing! is that bad?

Sounds like Round Ligament Pain. It’s just the ligaments around your uterus stretching. I’ve got it pretty bad and mine started between 13-14 weeks. They can be pretty intense and sometimes you won’t even notice it. You get it from standing up too quickly, sitting down too quickly, turning around in bed, etc. It can be sharp shooting pains, stabbing pains, or a dull ache. They’re perfectly normal.

Edit to add: I just read about someone mentioning an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy. You don’t have that. Ectopics are caught around 7-9 weeks. Your tube would have burst along time ago if it was ectopic. So don’t worry.

Hello, I am due on my period on Saturday and this seems to happen most months. I exercise regularly, but just before my period when i exercise i get this sharp pain in my left side and its just in my abdominal. I think its above my bowel. Its sharp and i have to stop exercising because of it. Its more when i do energetic workout like running and things like that.

Just wondering if anyone has any idea what it could be.

Maybe just your cramps kicking in, your period put pressure on your stomach ad lower half. drink lots of water before your execise you should do fine.

Occasionally I have a pain in left side of body - near bottom of ribcage. Any ideas of what it is?

Since about 2 months ago, I occasionally get a pain on the left side of my body. The pain seems to be in my left front, directly below my last rib.

It started when I had a coughing fit and only hurt when I had jarring motions (e.g., jumping jacks, or sudden movements) - otherwise I didn’t notice it. It is somewhat of a sharp pain. In the last few days, I occasionally notice it when just moving around.

In case this is useful, when I first noticed this pain its location seemed to flucuate from being in the front of my body to being mid-way between the front and back (though always on my left side and below my last rib). Now the pain is consistently in the front of my body.

Any thoughts of what could be causing this pain and whether I should be concerned about it?

Could be colon problems. Sometimes our colons can extend upward a bit on the left when we’ve not been eating right or taking in enough water. Your liver and gall bladder are more to the right side. Your stomach extends a bit into the left side, but is mostly centered, as is your pancreas, with just the tip end of it jutting into the left. Your spleen is on the left. Otherwise, there isn’t much on your left side. Could be what we call "stitches"… basically, just pain in the tissues. Check with your doctor. I don’t know your age, but it could be time for a lovely little colonoscopy.

9 weeks pregnant and having a little pain left side and upper back behind breast bone is this normal?

lately i have ben having a discomfort on my left side and upper back could it be because i carry my two year old alot whose so attached to my hip right now or is it something to talk to Doctor about. thanks for your kind answers.

during pregnancy your breast do swell and grow as they prepare for a baby. this might be why you feel pain. this pain could be heightened because you are carrying your toddler. you should always tell you doctor, especially if you think you need painkillers but want them to tell you if that is fine. always, always, always ask your GP about anything you are unsure about, your health depends on that.
